This practical one-day course supports primary teachers in delivering effective Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA) within the Key Stage 2 PE curriculum. OAA develops pupils’ teamwork, problem-solving and resilience through engaging outdoor challenges.
Teachers will explore how to plan a progressive OAA programme, including guidance on delivering at least six lessons per year group, and how to utilise the Primary PE and Sport Premium to support outdoor learning.
A key focus is orienteering, with practical ideas to introduce it in school and use it to support cross-curricular learning across geography, maths, literacy and science.
- By the end of the course, you will:
- Understand OAA requirements within KS2 PE
- Gain practical, easy-to-deliver activity ideas
- Feel confident planning and delivering OAA lessons
- Use orienteering to enhance PE and wider curriculum learning
Ideal for teachers looking to bring learning outdoors and build pupils’ confidence and collaboration.
